PRESS STATEMENT: Demanding State’s Attorney Eileen Burke to Support Mayor Johnson’s“ICE on Notice” Executive Order

On Saturday, January 31st, 2026, organizers, community allies, and alderpeople joined Chicago Mayor Johnson as he signed a new Executive Order, "ICE on Notice", which will open pathways for ICE agents to be prosecuted for violating laws in Chicago and brutalizing Chicagoans.

A coalition of Chicago organizations, lawyers, and organizers has published this statement. We encourage the State's Attorney to serve the people of Chicago, support, reassure, and follow through with the Mayor's Executive Order.
