ACTION RECAP | CUFC & CCPSA calling out : How will the Welcoming City Ordinance be enforced ?
Chicago can’t call itself a “Welcoming City” if there’s no accountability when our laws are violated.
At today’s joint City Council meeting, public comment came from fearful neighbors, rapid response activists, and even CCPSA council members—calling out the same question: how will the Welcoming City Ordinance actually be enforced when CPD has been repeatedly documented collaborating with ICE and terrorizing our communities?
The ordinance is meant to protect. That requires real investigations, real consequences, and real transparency—not complaints buried and harm ignored.
Community voices were clear today: this system is failing, and it must change.
📍 THIS THURSDAY | Jan. 29 | 6:30 PM | Malcolm X College
